Santesson’s Checklist of Fennoscandian Lichen-Forming and Lichenicolous Fungi
Santesson’s Checklist of Fennoscandian Lichen-Forming and Lichenicolous Fungi (2021) is a catalogue of all lichens and lichenicolous fungi known from Sweden, Norway, and Finland. It provides information on current scientific names, their synonyms, habitat choice, and distribution in the three countries.
The checklist is the fourth published edition in a series that started in 1984 with a list of lichens in Sweden and Norway, authored by Professor Rolf Santesson. It was updated in 1993 and 2004, the latter encompassing lichens and lichenicolous fungi in all three countries. After the third book, the checklist continued to be updated, and has been available on the internet since 2010. Since 2014, it constitues the standard for lichens and lichenicolous fungi in the Swedish eukaryote checklist project (Dyntaxa) and the Swedish biodiversity recording system (Artportalen).
